What is an Assessment?
Assessment is the process where you:

  • Identify opportunities or best practices.
  • Analyze and evaluate the consequence associated with passing up an opportunity.
  • Determine appropriate ways to eliminate poor practices.
  • Determine a way forward to implement and control a new way of working. In practical terms, an assessment is a thorough look at your workplace to identify those things, situations, processes, etc. that may cause risk to the operation of your business in various areas. After identification is made, you evaluate how likely and severe the risk is, than decide what measures should be in place to effectively prevent or control the consequence.

Why is Assessment Important?
Assessments are very important, as they form an integral part of an overall business improvement plan. They help to:

  • Create awareness
  • Identify what or who may be at risk
  • Alignment with PAS 55-2008, ANSI, API, and ISO Standards
  • Determine if existing control measures are adequate or if more should be done
  • Prevent a consequence from occurring when done at the design or planning stage

Research & Strategy Approach
While our business opportunity assessment and solutions identification approach may be comprehensive, they are also very clear and effective. Visionary People Consultants (VPC) utilize various strategic techniques for achieving client initiatives. Through effective communication, VPC ensure that they clearly understand what their assignment objectives are by paraphrasing and asking as many questions as necessary. Once the objective is understood, there are numerous techniques and processes that can be applied to successfully accomplish strategic assignments.

Our organization engineering and reengineering methodology is simple, while our tools are complex. There are five basic steps VPC perform when leading various client assignments, which may include, but are not limited to:

1. Assessing the Organization
2. Creating the Strategy
3. Implementing the Plan
4. Measuring Our Clients' Success
5. Evaluate, Adjust and Sustain Success

Types of Business Assessment & Tools
With so many organizational challenges and needs across various environments, cultures and
functions, Visionary People Consultants (VPC) understand how important performance evaluations are at any stage of a business; they are a way to assess the company’s current state. Business assessments should be done periodically and should be included in your business planning cycle. A well-thought-out and properly drawn out assessment will not only help you know the current state of your business, but will also help you determine the direction you want your business to take. And while assessments are considered mandatory for high-level organizations, they should also be implemented in small and midsize businesses.

The key here is to make sure you assess your business from the ground up. There are at least six important areas you need to examine when you do your assessment: Processes, Organization, Technology, Financials, Competition, and Clients. Furthermore, a good business assessment needs to address where you are today, what your short and long term goals are, and what you need to do to ensure you get from where you are now to the goals you have set in place. Business assessment tools can help you clarify these points with both clarity and direction.

At Visionary People (VP), we provide tools you need to gather insight so that when you take action, it will be informed action. And, we recognize the need you have to pinpoint problems wherever they lie so you can resolve them in a time and cost-efficient manner. The appropriate tool is selected for the situation and to help create a development plan to reach the goal. The tools VP Consultants utilize include proprietary Visionary People tools, but are not limited to internationally validated paper-based and digital (computer-based) tools such as:
